Walmart is reimagining car maintenance with its first 'Auto Care Center of the Future' in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The pilot features smart-locker key drops, real-time app updates, and value-priced services like $5 tire installations and $27 oil changes.
Nine additional pilot locations will open this year across Texas, Georgia, West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. The retail giant will evaluate customer feedback before expanding the concept to its 2,600 U.S. centers.
The initiative leverages digital convenience—customers can schedule services via the Walmart app, check in digitally, and track progress while shopping. The pilot begins with tire installations but will expand to oil changes, battery replacements, and other services.
